"Starting any company is challenging, but this one was exceptional. If I knew then what I know now, I probably never would have tried it... but I guess that's why God makes us ignorant in so many ways!" In 1996, Greg Knox started Knox Machinery in Franklin Ohio for no other reason than that was where he and his wife Margie wanted to raise their children. Having grown up in New York and spending the better part of 10 years in Detroit Michigan, both Greg and Margie fell in love with the wholesome mid-west morals and the "family first" attitude so fostered in this part of the country. |
Greg left his family back in Michigan, and, along with Steve Garbacik, proceeded to work 16+ hour days selling CNC products they had never sold before, in a territory they knew nothing about.
"We really started from scratch" Steve would say, "but those early years were also some of the most fun and rewarding of my life."
Our business model was very simple then, and it still is today - treat every company you deal with with honesty and integrity, and treat them all no matter how big or small they are, like they are the most important people in the world (and with 6 young children at home, it's easy to remember every day, because they truly are the most important people in the world - to me and my family anyway).
The same principles that helped us to get off the ground 10 years ago are still just as employed and important at Knox Machinery today. We have grown rapidly, and continue to do so, but as Greg Knox has always maintained - we continue to grow one happy customer and one excellent associate at a time.
It is said that excellence is a journey and not a destination, and we believe that is true.
We heartily thank all of our customers who have helped us to get here, and look forward to growing our company to even greater heights, by helping our customers to grow their companies.

Gregory J. Knox
